From Holy Hill to Sun Hill

Join an English guide on a longish walk visiting places in Volkach and Gaibach closely associated with the famous woodcarver Tilmann Riemenschneider and architects Leo von Klenze and Balthasar Neumann. You will start by visiting the Pilgrimage Church Mary in the Vineyards with its Madonna in the Wreath of Roses (Riemenschneider) and then gradually walk across the fields and up to the Constitution Column (von Klenze) situated on top of the hill at the neighbouring village Gaibach. On your way back down to Volkach you will walk through the former English Park and glimpse the Castle belonging to the Counts of Schönborn. Finally the Church of The Holy Trinity (Neumann) in the centre of Gaibach will be visited.

Enjoy a unique combination of art, architecture, nature and gardens on a 8 kilometre (5 miles) round trip.
